quote

"Change and improvement are 99% mental. Your legs will run if you tell them to."

I always thought the best way to see how someone really feels about you is how they treat you when you’re not looking. Hearing from a 3rd party how much you mean to someone, how they act when they think you’re asleep, and those quick reflexes that happen without thinking.

Someone holding you still so that the bumpy road won’t cause your sleepy head to fall and wake you up.

When you’re in the car with a fast driver, and someone reaches their arm in front of you like a seat belt for a potentially scary second.

That time you didn’t feel very good, someone kept their eye on you, and ended up catching you from across a table. Spiderman reflex worthy.

I’m surrounded by good people.

Let’s not treat friendships as business transactions. You’re not investing for the sake of how materialistically profitable it is. Not for future benefits. Not networking. Invest for the moments you talk about the deep stuff, for the happy useless hours you spend passing the time with good company, and for the silent times of comfortable nothingness.

Be fair with favors, but never expect anything in exchange. Approach them selflessly. Thankfulness is the most you should anticipate. A favor returned is always extra; be surprised and extra grateful for it. & When persuading, never say, “But I would do it for you!” It doesn’t work like that.

Don’t go out of your way to be nice to me if your only goal is to use it as leverage. That’s why I never ask you for favors and I’m highly uncomfortable when you do things for me. It always feels… underhanded.

I got lectured on my “nonchalant attitude” problem yesterday. :\ It’s true.

Picnic Day

:) Ended up going. Haha, Pauline called. As I was telling her I wasn’t going to go, she interrupted me and said, “NO, YOU’RE GOING. I’LL BE THERE IN 20.”

Glad I went! It was fun!

I said I would go to my friend’s birthday party, but I don’t have any formal-wear. :\ … Guess I’ll stay home.

Average Weekends

It’s been a while, but let’s see…

Celine’s birthday in SLO - Hearst Castle, Madonna Inn, and a delicious sandwich. Good food.
Basketball game of a lifetime.
Spring Break with Noriko.

This past weekend…

Skipped class to go home with my mom Thursday night.
SF Friday - Detected possible theif trying to take my mom’s friend’s purse. She saw  me watching her very closely with her arm reaching under her jacket. Kept eye contact with her and the purse. After a few minutes, snatcher left. I was the only one who noticed.
Easter Egg Hunt Saturday - Painted eggs, my mom and my aunt hid them. Upon request, they hid them very well. Under leaves in bushes. Matching colors—yellow eggs in the lemon tree, orange in the orange tree, purple in the purple flowers. It was fun. My uncle accidentally picked the orange egg trying to get an orange.
Lazy Sunday.

There’s Nonsense in my room and no reasoning with it.

I wish everyone was a little less damaged.
